Every one of us contains a different mix of experiences, feelings, talents and other unique characteristics. These items in our personal storehouse help us raise our families, do our jobs, teach others, cope with tragedy, celebrate life and have an individual impact on the world. They make up our “personal kit bag.”
It is the uniqueness of each set of characteristics that make us undeniably human. A good case in point is our Sister Janet Roesener. Her set of talents come in handy during her many travels as she brings the special charism of the CSJ congregation to the lives of a variety of people. Her journeys have taken her to far-flung places such as Uganda, Bangladesh, Germany and Brazil, as well as more familiar locales like the sisters’ various territories in the United States. Cincinnati, Ohio, is Sister Janet’s home and base of operations.
One could call her a facilitator, but this is a limited term for a person with such a diverse range of people-skills. Her voice is a steady presence, always extolling the merits of good planning. It’s what you’d expect from a former executive director of the LCWR (Leadership Conference of Women Religious). Often her focus is with Catholic groups, although she works in a variety of situations. Community meetings, assemblies and leadership groups are just a few of the settings in which you’ll find her mediating and creating unity.
Her many efforts have helped bring group members with a wide variety of views together in order to create positive social change.
There is one more permanent item in Janet’s personal suitcase; something that goes with her everywhere she goes. The good wishes, prayers and support of her religious community… and you, our devoted patrons and friends.
