Finding A Vocation

It starts with a deep desire.

While reading the newspaper, you read of a young person suffering under horrible addictions. Do you feel challenged to help?

While watching the news on TV, you see a family with young children who lost their simple home because of unemployment. Do you feel moved to respond?

When you look at your life you see yourself as many of us have seen ourselves: educated, prepared to make a good salary and spiritually connected. Do you yet feel a call to be more... to do more?

You ask God if, in some way, you might use your gifts and talents, together with others, to help your neighbor and to make a difference in the world.

This is the beginning of a process known as discernment, or discovering your call. If this is your dream, then where do you begin?

Begin by inquiring about the congregation through visits and correspondence with the Vocation Director and other Sisters. If you are already acquainted with the community, you may be invited directly to become an Affiliate after a few conversations with the Vocation Director. Each visit helps both you and the community, since discernment is a two-way process.
