Join Proud Sisters As They Go "Rollin' on the River"

CINCINNATI, OH - On Sunday, October 10th, you're cordially invited to go "Rollin' on the River," a fund raiser benefiting the Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille Congregation. The event takes place on the Colonel Riverboat, as it arrives from Galveston, Texas in preparation for Cincinnati's Tall Stacks Festival. The steamboat will be piloted by Sister Joy Manthey, the first woman to receive her Master's Unlimited License this century.

Passengers will board the Colonel at the foot of Madison Ave. at Covington Landing, on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River. From 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., the Sisters will host a Patron Party, complete with cocktails, hors d'oevres, entertainment and the following Dinner Cruise. The cost of the Patron Party (Dinner Cruise included) is $125 per person. The Dinner Cruise takes place from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. and includes dinner, dancing, and entertainment provided by Pete Bylan and the Dixieland Band. For those attending only the Dinner Cruise, cost is $75 per ticket.

An antique wooden washstand, used by the Sisters in the early 1900's, will be just one of the raffle prizes awarded during "Rollin' on the River." Other prizes are works of art created by the Sisters themselves. One such piece is a cross-stitched, queen-size quilt and shams made by Sister Raphael Cota from Crookston, Minnesota. There will also be a cash prize of $1,000. Raffle tickets may be purchased at the door.

Sponsored by Bartlett & Co. and Sieber Enterprises, "Rollin' on the River" will benefit the Sisters of St. Joseph's ministries throughout the Greater Cincinnati area, where they have worked since 1893. The Sisters are active in many ministries, including education, parish work, education for the hearing-impaired and healthcare. For more information on the Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille, "Rollin' on the River," or to purchase tickets (must order before September 27th), call Judy Sandquist at (513) 761-4143.
