Celebrate 270 Years
of Jubilee
NEW ORLEANS, LA Five Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille will celebrate jubilee anniversaries at a eucharistic liturgy on October 17 at St. Francis Cabrini Church in New Orleans. Sisters Claire Germaine Henritzy and Beverly Lartigue will celebrate 60 years of profession; Sisters Bertrand Lieux, Anne Claire Price and Doris Vigneaux will celebrate 50 years. Father Joseph Reising, S.J. will be the celebrant of the liturgy, which will be followed by a reception at the Parish Center.
Sister Claire Germaine was born in Plaquemines Parish and raised in New Orleans. She earned a Ph.D. at Loyola New Orleans and an M.A. in English at Catholic University in Washington D.C. She did additional studies in theology at the University of Notre Dame and Trinity College and in supervision and administration at L.S.U. She began teaching at St. Joseph's Academy in New Orleans and was a teacher and principal at St. Joseph Academy in Baton Rouge for 30 years. She also taught at Catholic High Pointe Coupee in New Roads, at the Louisiana Arts & Science Center in Baton Rouge, and served as a School Supervisor for the Diocese of Baton Rouge. In New Orleans she coordinated the Sisters of St. Joseph School and worked in social ministry at St. Angela Merici Parish until her retirement.
Sister Beverly Lartigue (formerly Sister Marie Louise) was born and raised in Baton Rouge. She holds a B.S. in Education from Loyola New Orleans and did further studies in science at L.S.U. She began teaching at St. Ann School in New Orleans and taught science at St. Joseph Academy in New Orleans, New Roads, Bay St. Louis and Baton Rouge. She was Novice Mistress for the Sisters of St. Joseph from 1959 to 1966 and later worked with alumnae at St. Joseph's in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. From 1980 to 1989 she was receptionist at Redeemer-Seton High School in New Orleans. She is currently doing parish ministry at St. Mary's parish in New Roads.
Sister Bertrand Lieux was born and raised in New Roads, LA and earned a B.S. in Education at Loyola New Orleans, an M.H.B.A. in Hospital Administration at the University of Cincinnati and an M.A. in Spirituality at the University of San Francisco. Her first years were spent as a teacher at St. Rose in New Orleans and Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, LA. She was a teacher and administrator at St. Rita School in Harahan LA, St. Ann School and St. Frances Cabrini School in New Orleans, and Sacred Heart School in Norco, LA. She then moved into hospital administration at Terrebonne General in Houma, LA and was elected Provinical Superior of the New Orleans Province

of the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1976. She served on the staff at the Jesuit Spirituality Center in Grand Coteau and with Catholic Charities Job Search in New Orleans. She has worked in vocation development and financial development for the Sisters of St. Joseph and is currently Development Director at the community's central office in Cincinnati.
Sister Anne Claire Price was born and raised in New Orleans and holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from Loyola New Orleans. She also has Clinical Pastoral Education training from Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans. Her ministry began with teaching at St. Joseph Academy in New Roads and continued for 34 years at Our Lady of the Rosary and St. Rose in New Orleans, at Sacred Heart in Baton Rouge and in Morgan City, and at Catholic Elementary in New Roads. She has worked in Clinical Pastoral Education at Mercy, Baptist and Children's hospitals in New Orleans and is currently ministering in that capacity for the People's Program and the St. Joseph Infirmary in New Orleans.
Sister Doris Vigneaux (formerly Sister Alfred) was born and raised in New Orleans. She earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Loyola New Orleans and an M.R.E. from Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. Sister taught in elementary schools for 28 years beginning at St. Joseph Academy in Baton Rouge. She taught in New Orleans at St. Rose, St. Joseph's Kindergarten, St. Frances Cabrini Kindergarten and at Our Lady of the Rosery; at St. Rita in Harahan; in Baton Rouge at Sacred Heart, St. George and St. Thomas More schools; at Sacred Heart School in Norco and Guardian Angels School in Cincinnati. Sister also served as Religion Coordinator at Sacred Heart parish in Baton Rouge and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Belle Chasse. Currently, she is serving as House Administrator at St. Joseph's Convent in New Orleans.
