Sisters Go All Out at Jubillenium - After All, Your 350th Anniversary
Only Comes Around Once, Ya Know.

NEW ORLEANS (LA) On April 15th, 2000, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille Congregation cordially invite you to attend their sixth annual Spring Gala. This year's event "Spring Gala 2000: Join the Jubillenium," will be held at Bank One Center, 201 St. Charles Avenue from 8:00 to 11:00PM. The celebration will honor the Sisters of St. Joseph as they celebrate the 350-year anniversary of their founding.

The black-tie-optional event costs $50 per person and will offer gourmet cuisine provided by some of New Orleans' finest restaurants, including Brennan's, Christian's, Mr. B's Bistro, and Mike Ditka's on the Avenue. In addition, attendees will enjoy music, dancing, verbal and silent auctions.

Some of the items up for bid in the verbal auction include a doll dressed as an original Sister of St. Joseph (hand-made by one of the sisters), a painting of the original St. Joseph Academy on Ursulines Avenue, and a dinner prepared by Servando Mendez and served by the Sisters of St. Joseph. The silent auction will consist of approximately 80 items. Many of the items up for bid are made by the sisters themselves, including framed counted cross-stitch pieces, framed dried flower arrangements, and crocheted afghans.

"Spring Gala 2000: Join the Jubillenium" will benefit the Sisters of St. Joseph who have worked throughout the New Orleans-Baton Rouge area for 146 years. The Sisters are active in many ministries, including education, parish work, education for the hearing-impaired and healthcare.
